Norman Rockwell was a famous American painter and illustrator whose work enjoyed broad public appeal in the United States for his depiction of mid-twentieth century American culture. He lived and worked in southern Vermont and western Massachusetts for many years and I even had the honor of modeling for him. Here I am doing what I loved to do best for Rockwell as a youth 🙂 Just kidding, of course, although I do love this image. Find out more about Rockwell in this 2013 post I wrote about him.
I have always liked Norman Rockwell’s paintings. I can remember when they were on the cover of the Saturday Evening Post (I think that is the magazine name). To me he is a great artist, a current artist whose style is similar is Jim Daly, see his website at http://www.jimdalyart.com/Artist.asp?ArtistID=25909&Akey=X5J4XX7L if you like Norman Rockwell you will probably like Jim Daly.
Thanks for the great tip, James. I had never heard of this fellow before, but I’ve added a hyperlink to your posting to help get people there. It’s a terrific site!
