I walk in shadows searching for light,
Cold and alone, no comfort in sight.
Hoping and praying for someone who’ll care,
Always moving and goin’ nowhere.
Just a reminder that there’s still time for you to make a difference in the life of some kid who is homeless this holiday season. Don’t know anyone like that? Here are some more faces and stories of homeless youths. They come to us from a group named StandUp for Kids, which has chapters in at least 60 cities in the United States. Don’t see one in your community? Start one.
I mean, yeah, sure, you’re right. I’m shameless and playing for sympathy here. But how can you not have sympathy when you study those faces and learn more about those kids? Or the ones I introduced you to on my previous posting? It has to come from within you, but the one thing I can say is this. Somehow, some way, everyone can make a difference if they want to. And I guarantee your holidays will be happier if you do. So don’t just read the words. Do it now. Give something back.
Show the love! Get involved! Make a difference!
